In case you’re not following FatWatch on Twitter, last night I posted a sneak preview of what’s coming in the next update to FatWatch. There have been a lot of general user interface tweaks and one major new feature: Body Mass Index (BMI) calculation.
I initially omitted BMI because of its many shortcomings: for example, it tends to classify athletic people as overweight because it can’t distinguish muscle from fat. I believe I have solved this problem, however, by making BMI entirely optional: if you don’t want to see it, don’t turn it on.
I also gave the Weigh-in screen a facelift. The Note field is bigger (easier to tap) and now it wraps your text rather than shrinking it if you write a long note. I apologize that the ugly check mark control remains unchanged.
Check out the pictures and tell me what you think. If you want to pick nits, now is the time to do it!
