I signed up for a Macy’s card. It was not a useful decision for several reasons. First, I don’t shop there often; having lost some weight two years ago, I am now perpetually waiting to reach my target weight before investing in “nice” clothing. Second, taking on another line of revolving credit, even if I maintain a balance of $0, will not be any help to my credit score.
But the idea of having an account at a department store seemed kind of romantic. That’s the way aristocrats shop.
